'You Better Have a Plan Z'
College athletics officials share ideas for improving future disaster-recovery efforts
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita displaced, or disrupted the schedules of, more than a dozen teams in four athletics conferences. Some programs, like Tulane University's, had to relocate to other campuses or cancel several weeks of games.
Meanwhile, the financial losses that colleges sustained from the natural disasters are adding up and could force some institutions to trim their athletics
