Yale's Biotech Boom Is a Bust for City of New Haven, Conn., Report Says
The biotech boom that Yale University is helping to bring to New Haven may be great for Yale. But it isn't doing much for the city itself, according to a report by the Connecticut Center for a New Economy.
A number of companies that came to New Haven or that were spun off from the university pay royalties to Yale for the right to commercialize its inventions or to sponsor research there.
