Yale Professor Attacks History-Department Recruit Over Book on David Baltimore Case; Louisville's Jon Jory to Join U. of Washington's Drama School
Yale University hopes to bolster the reputation of its small history-of-science department with two prominent hires. But a senior faculty member has challenged the scholarship of one of the recruits.
Yale has offered tenured posts to Daniel J. Kevles, a professor of humanities at the California Institute of Technology, and Jed Z. Buchwald, a professor of history at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Discussions are in progress with both historians.
