Yale Lifts Cap on Size of Faculty in Arts and Sciences; Joint Searches Fail Repeatedly on Cal. State Campus
Yale University recently lifted a six-year-old cap on the number of faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences. The immediate beneficiary will be the political-science department, which, with fewer than 30 tenure-track positions, has not kept pace either with similarly prestigious programs or with the number of undergraduate majors it attracts.
