Yagoda's Unfamiliar Quotations
I've looked all through the 17th edition of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, released last fall, and I can't find my favorite quote. The old favorites are all there, from Samuel Johnson, Samuel Goldwyn, and Yogi Berra, plus some new additions: "It depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" (Bill Clinton); "Our hearts are broken, but they continue to beat, and the spirit of our city has never been stronger" (Rudy Giuliani); "It's the economy, stupid" (James Carville); and "Show me the money!"
