Anyone who spends much time at universities these days has to be aware that sex is a pervasive public presence — the topic of undergraduate and graduate classes, the subject of academic symposia, the focal point of various student organizations, the basis of campus policies, and the spirited center of administratively sanctioned extracurricular activities.
