Working Together to Solve the Anthrax Dilemma
A University of Oxford research team wants to harness the power of millions of computers to seek a treatment for anthrax.
The project, which began last month and may take up to three months, involves evaluating 3.5 billion molecules for their potential to block anthrax proteins from entering (and debilitating) cells. Volunteers can download a screen-saver program that will test models of the molecules while the volunteers' computers are otherwise idle
