A tenured professor goes out on a professional limb to get a life

For many academics, part-time work feels like a professional disaster: low pay, tiny shared offices, and indifference or outright contempt from full-time faculty members. I've been there, and I was thrilled to stop doing the adjunct shuffle and start my full-time career.
