Women's Studies 'Where Civil Rights Never Made It'
My journey to liberate the minds of the women and some men of South Georgia and to lead this largely rural region out of cultural and religious "error" began in July 1995, when I left the Canadian university where I had taught for 20 years to become the first director of women's studies at Valdosta State University.
