Wisconsin Offers Deal for Stem-Cell Research
The State of Wisconsin and the foundation that owns the University of Wisconsin's patents on embryonic stem cells have raised the stakes in the informal battle with California and other states to attract financial support for research in the controversial field.
Under a new program announced last month, the foundation — the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation — has agreed to waive its demand that companies pay it for the rights to conduct pre-commercial research
