Wis. Faculty Approves Policy on Evaluations
A year after the Faculty Senate at the University of Wisconsin at Madison rejected the idea of evaluating tenured professors, it changed its collective mind and adopted such a policy.
All 15 institutions in the Wisconsin System have been devising policies on reviewing tenured professors once every five years. In May 1992 the Board of Regents required all campuses to pass such measures in an effort to reassure the public that the campuses were monitoring faculty performance.
