Wireless Network May Enable American U. to Unplug Phones in Dorms
Students have become so wedded to their cell phones that administrators at American University say they may eventually stop offering traditional phone service in dormitories. Such a radical change in phone service would be possible because of a wireless network that radio engineers will install this summer on the university's two campuses here.
American's wireless network is unusual because the same infrastructure that distributes wireless laptop signals will distribute and amplify
