William J. Koros: More Basic Science
"A lot of what happens nowadays," laments William J. Koros, a professor of chemical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, "is you don't get money unless you're pretty sure it's going to work."
His grant from Kaust has given him the opportunity to take more chances. If his experiments do work, they could create major energy savings in Saudi Arabia and around the world.
He works on separations, the large-scale processes that remove contaminants, like sulfur or carbon
