Getting into college for most high-school seniors means a fat envelope in the mail. If they are lucky, they might get a sticker.
Kate L. Murtaugh got a multimedia ad campaign.
"I was driving home from school," says Ms. Murtaugh. "I was complaining about a teacher or a test or something, and my sister just started screaming my name. I thought there was something in the road."
