Why Can't Universities Be More Like Businesses?
Some 10 years ago I was invited by a faculty colleague to attend a dinner party, at which the guest of honor was an executive with a very successful chain of retail stores. The topic for the evening's discussion, chosen by our guest, was "Why can't universities be more like businesses?"
