Who's Running the Antiwar Movement, and Should That Matter?

And the redbaiting begins. I refer, of course, to the comments of Michael Bérubé ("Toward an Ideal Antiwar Movement: Mature, Legitimate, and Popular," The Review, November 29). He can't bring himself to associate with the current organizers of protests against war in Iraq. He recalls his own fastidious distinctions during the nuclear-freeze campaign and disparages past attitudes of Act Now to Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) and Not in Our Name.
