Who's Watching the Watchdogs of the Alabama College System?

The chancellor of the Alabama College System, Roy W. Johnson, has drawn criticism lately for the number of his family members who also have jobs in the community-college system, or who have been awarded contracts by it (The Chronicle, May 22). Now the State Board of Education is investigating possible nepotism. But according to an article in today’s Birmingham News, half of the elected officials on the board themselves have family members employed by the community-college system.
