Which Professors Earn the Most?

Washington, D.C. -- A survey of faculty salaries shows that the best-paid professors at baccalaureate and comprehensive colleges are in engineering and business.

Engineers, as usual, earn the highest salaries -- an average of $64,334 at private colleges and $59,331 at public ones. On their heels are accounting professors, who make an average of $57,549 at public colleges, and geology professors, who earn $58,400 at private institutions. Other top earners are in marketing and business
