When a Building Gets 'Sick'

To the Editor:

It was interesting to read the article by Robin Wilson on the sick building at the University of Maryland's College Park campus ("Mold and Fear Seep Into a Department," June 29). I empathize with Phyllis A. Peres, Elke P. Frederiksen, and other faculty and staff members whose health is suffering (or has suffered) in that building. I am sure there are other institutions where the sick-building malady is being swept under the carpet ... by their administrations. While
