What's in a Name? Letters, and Lots of 'Em
Everyone get out your hankies.
The National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, better known as Nasulgc, announced at its annual meeting this month that it is changing its name to the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, or APLU. Typically pronounced "nuh-SULL-jik" (or, less kindly, "nasal-guck"), the acronym often trips up readers unfamiliar with it. But its replacement may not fare much better.
