What Role Should Faculty Advisers to Student Newspapers Play?

Students serving on college publications are learning how to become effective journalists, but under the mentorship of an academic adviser ("When Student Newspapers Offend, Advisers May Pay With Their Jobs," July 17). And this is absolutely appropriate.
