What Feminism Means to Today's Undergraduates
"I didn't like this essay," Jack (let's call him) says loudly. "I'm just not a fan of feminism." Jack is a student in a freshman English class that I teach at the University of New Hampshire. He is a good student, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan of his critical specialty, broad generalizations.
The discussions in the small groups around the classroom have come to a halt.
"OK," I say. "Why aren't you a fan of feminism?"
