Web Watchdog to Monitor New Group That Oversees Internet Addresses
Arguing that the future of cyberspace is at stake, three professors have set up a World-Wide Web site to track the actions of the new organization that is helping to assign Internet addresses.
The organization is called ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Although its mission sounds arcane, the group deals with fundamental issues of the Internet's architecture.
