Web Site Offers New Clearinghouse on Issues of Academic Work and Life

The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor has just unveiled a new online clearinghouse of information on issues of academic work and life. The Web site includes links to university policies, reports, and journal articles as well as a forum where people can discuss issues. Users can also search the site for information on a broad range of issues, including maternity leave and faculty retirement. The site, called the National Clearinghouse on Academic Worklife, is the broadest online tool of its kind, and was financed by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to Michigan’s Center for the Education of Women. —Robin Wilson
