Wealthy Institutions Should Be Generous

Goldie Blumenstyk's comprehensive analysis of efforts to have prosperous universities spend a greater percentage of their endowments fails to note the impact that these riches might have on the willingness of donors to give ("Pressure Builds on Wealthy Colleges to Spend More of Their Assets," The Chronicle, November 2).
