We Cut Student Aid at Our Own Peril
In the past decade, some of the most selective colleges and universities in the country have made significant commitments to financial aid for students who otherwise would not be able afford to attend those institutions. But in spite of some progress, the overall picture of access to college for low-income students is sobering. It is still primarily kids from the highest-earning families in the United States who are being admitted to and attending the most-selective institutions.
