Wayne State U. Graduate-Student Workers Demand Wider Recognition

Dozens of students and professors at Wayne State University held a rally this month to demand that the institution allow a labor union on the campus to represent all graduate workers there in labor negotiations.

The Graduate Employees Organizing Committee, which is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, was formed three years ago to represent the approximately 870 graduate employees at Wayne State.
