Watchdog Agency Blocks New Human-Research Projects at U. of Illinois at Chicago
The U.S. Office for Protection from Research Risks last month blocked the University of Illinois at Chicago from beginning new research projects involving human subjects, citing inadequate oversight and safety procedures.
The action marks the continuation of what some university officials see as a trend of tougher enforcement of research protocols by the federal-watchdog agency.
