DRUG LAW CHALLENGED: A group of students has sued to overturn a provision of the Higher Education Act that prohibits students who have been convicted of a drug charge from receiving federal financial aid. The Students for Sensible Drug Policy Foundation, three students who were convicted of drug offenses, and the American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit last week against the U.S. education secretary, Margaret Spellings, in the U.S. District Court for South Dakota.
