Washington U. Economics Dept. Gets a 6-Pack; Fund Raiser at Rutgers U. to Step Down After Marrying President; Bennett College President Resigns
HIRING SPREE: The economics department at Washington University in St. Louis is not waiting for an invisible hand to move it up the rankings. With six new tenured professors coming onboard this fall and six additional hires anticipated within the next three years, the department believes it is on the rise.
Ping Wang, chairman of the department, says that more important than improving the rankings — something he thinks will follow naturally from the higher caliber of research
