Washington Settles Health-Benefits Case
The State of Washington has reached a tentative settlement with part-time instructors at community colleges in a longstanding class-action lawsuit, agreeing last week to pay them $11-million for wrongfully denying health-care benefits during the summer.
The agreement, which still must be approved by the Legislature and the King County Superior Court, comes after the State Supreme Court ruled in June that part-time instructors who worked at least half time were eligible for health
