Ira Berlin, a professor of history at the University of Maryland at College Park, has been appointed by President Clinton and confirmed by the Senate as a member of the National Council on the Humanities.

Stephen C. Duffy, executive vice president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies, has been appointed by President Clinton to the National Cancer Advisory
