Virginia Judge Rejects Bond Issue Sought by Regent U.
The Commonwealth of Virginia cannot approve a tax-exempt bond issue for Regent University, which was founded by the religious broadcaster Pat Robertson, because the institution is "pervasively sectarian," and such a bond issue would violate the constitutional separation of church and state, a state judge ruled last month.
