Violent Video Games: Rehearsing Aggression
Of course violent video games are not the only factor that contributes to aggression and violence, but, contrary to Christopher J. Ferguson's assertions in "Video Games: the Latest Scapegoat for Violence" (The Chronicle Review, June 22), they are an important factor. What we know about the effects of violent video games comes from a longstanding, well-documented body of research on TV violence spanning about four decades, combined with about two decades of research on video games.
