Violence in Video Games

In "Go Ahead, Steal My Car" (The Chronicle Review, June 27), Bill Blake surprisingly ignores decades of research on the impact of media violence on children. In July 2000, for example, a joint statement of six major medical associations and academies (including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) indicated that "well over 1,000 studies … point overwhelmingly to a causal connection between media violence
