Violence Recedes at U. of Karachi, but Pakistani Politics Persists
Armed security guards and a ban on extracurricular activities have halted student attacks
The campus of the University of Karachi used to be the killing field of Pakistani student politics. It was here that rival parties waged a war of attrition through their affiliated student wings.
That's no longer the case. The permanent presence of hundreds of armed troops in and around the campus has seen to that.
