I have not yet had a chance to read Timothy Maga's new book but have only seen his essay ("A New Verdict on the Tokyo War-Crimes Trials," The Review, May 4). From this, it seems to me that Professor Maga shares some of the problems, and the virtues, of the prosecutors at the Tokyo trials. He has some legitimate complaints, and his desire to focus on the objective facts of the trials, rather than the hullabaloo surrounding them, is commendable (if not entirely
