Veterans Affairs Department Clarifies Accreditation of Human Subjects Research

The Department of Veterans Affairs has cleared up confusion about who will accredit research on human subjects conducted in conjunction with universities at its medical centers.

The confusion arose because two nonprofit organizations have been founded to grant accreditation to research institutions that recruit human volunteers for biomedical and behavioral studies.
