Venezuela Eliminates Entrance Exams
Venezuela will eliminate its national college aptitude test, as well as the public universities' own entrance examinations, President Hugo Chávez announced last month. The changes are intended to open university access to students from poor families.
"These old methods were instruments for exclusion," Mr. Chávez said."They will now be substituted with a unified system of admission."
