Va. Judge Dismisses Immigrants' Lawsuit
A federal judge has dismissed the remaining elements in a lawsuit that accused seven public colleges in Virginia of violating the rights of illegal immigrants by refusing to admit them because of their illegal status.
The judge, T.S. Ellis III of the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Va., dismissed a large portion of the case in February, ruling that the colleges could deny admission to anyone they chose, without violating the U.S. Constitution or exceeding their authority.
