Va. Colleges May Bar Illegal Immigrants

Colleges may deny admission to applicants who are living in the United States illegally, a federal judge ruled last week.

In a lawsuit that challenged the policies of seven state colleges and universities in Virginia, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III said states and their public colleges would not overstep their authority or violate illegal immigrants' rights under the U.S. Constitution by preventing them from enrolling.
