Utah Valley State College Still Feeling Repercussions From Invitation to Filmmaker
Nearly five months have passed since students at Utah Valley State College invited Michael Moore to speak on their campus, but the backlash from the event is still being felt.
William A. Sederburg, president of Utah Valley, said the controversy over Mr. Moore's appearance was one reason that state lawmakers snubbed the college when handing out money for building projects last month. The institution was seeking state funds to put toward its planned $37-million library.
