Utah State U. Returns Historical Papers, Settling Dispute With Mormon Church
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reclaimed some sensitive papers that belonged to the late historian Leonard J. Arrington, ending a two-month dispute with Utah State University.
In late November, the university returned the handful of papers to Mr. Arrington's family, which in turn gave them to the church. The documents in question, according to Mr. Arrington's family, were mistakenly given to the university after he died in 1999.
