Users of Course Materials on the Web

To the Editor:

I have been putting course materials on the Web for several years now ("'Open Courseware' Idea Spreads," The Chronicle, March 4). My statistics show that most of the visitors to my site are not from the developing world, as your article asserts, but come from highly industrialized countries.

I do get people from the developing world (I am currently getting over 600 page requests a day and have recorded visitors from 114 of the member states of the United Nations),
