University of Florida's Software Upgrade Delays Payday for Teaching Assistants
More than 200 graduate teaching and research assistants at the University of Florida did not receive paychecks for almost a month, in part because the university's computer technicians had problems integrating PeopleSoft's payroll software with other computer systems on the Gainesville campus.
University officials worked over a weekend to hand out emergency checks to the graduate assistants after their union held a campus protest to draw attention to the issue.
