University Uses New Format to Send Televised Courses by Computer
Distance education may be moving beyond the old telecourse and hitting the Internet, but at least one university is mixing the two media to take advantage of the best of both worlds.
National Technological University, which offers a variety of technical and business degrees, found a way to expand its television-based courses to the Internet, through a technology called MPEG-2.
The MPEG standard, so called because it was developed by the Moving Picture
