Universities Scramble to Find Teachers of Freshman Composition

As graduate enrollment in English falls, departments recruit instructors from other fields Freshmen should be forgiven if they are a bit confused about who's teaching English composition this fall. On some campuses, their instructor may be a future lawyer, not a prospective English professor.
