Universities' Royalty Income Increased 33% in 1997, Reaching $446-Million

Survey finds that U.S. universities were awarded 2,239 new patents in the last year Research universities in the United States earned more than $446-million in royalties from their inventions in fiscal 1997, a 33-per-cent increase over 1996, according to an annual survey released last month by the Association of University Technology Managers. |
