Universities Gear Up to Dissuade Congress From Cutting Research Funds

As Administration officials issue blunt warnings, university officials and lobbyists have geared up to dissuade Congress from cutting research spending for next year.

Lawmakers begin final deliberations this month on a budget for fiscal 2000, which starts on October 1.
