Unions for Medical Students?
To the Editor:
As chair of the Governing Council of the American Medical Association's Section on Medical Schools, I would like to provide a perspective on the recent A.M.A. decision to develop a national negotiating organization ("Academic Medicine Becomes a Target for Labor Organizing," August 6). The Section on Medical Schools is the unit within the A.M.A. that has representation from academic physicians.
